Meet
Keith.

Low-key by name, low-key by nature. Eight years of professional photography and still just as excited to press the shutter as day one.

“I never set out to be a professional photographer. I picked up a camera because I wanted to remember things — then I couldn’t put it down.”
— Keith, LowKei Photography

A hobby that
became a passion.

It started the way most great things do — without a plan. Keith picked up his first camera more than eight years ago, not with any professional ambition in mind, but simply because the world looked interesting through a viewfinder. Weekends disappeared into state parks, backroads, and parking lots at golden hour. The camera went everywhere. Sleep did not.

What began as a hobby quietly became something more. Friends asked for portraits. Car enthusiasts started reaching out after spotting automotive shots on social media. A few paid gigs turned into a steady stream of work, and before long what had been a creative outlet had become a legitimate profession — one Keith was, honestly, a little surprised to find himself in.

After eight-plus years shooting professionally across the Southeast, the excitement hasn’t faded. Every session still carries that same curiosity that sparked the whole thing in the first place: what happens when the light hits just right, and you’re ready for it?

Based in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area with deep roots in Alabama, Keith works across the region and beyond — comfortable in a field photographing wildlife at dawn, just as much as in a parking structure with a muscle car at midnight. The subject changes. The patience and attention don’t.

The Beginning
First Camera, First Frame
Borrowed a DSLR on a road trip and never gave it back. Started shooting landscapes and whatever wildlife would hold still long enough.
Early Days
The Hobby Gets Serious
Invested in proper gear. Shot constantly — before work, after work, weekends. Built a portfolio out of stubbornness more than strategy.
The Turn
Hobby Becomes a Job
First paid portrait session. First automotive client. Word spread quietly, the way good things do in small communities. LowKei Photography was born out of necessity and a name that felt right.
Going Pro
Full-Time Lens Life
Expanded into wildlife, landscapes, and commercial work. Built a reputation for being easy to work with, hard to rattle, and good at finding the shot in any conditions.
Today — 8+ Years In
Still Chasing the Light
Shooting portraits, cars, wildlife, and landscapes across the Southeast. Every session still feels like the first one that mattered.

When the
camera’s
put down.

For someone who spends a lot of time behind a camera, Keith has a pretty full life in front of one. Off duty, you’ll find him in one of three places — and two of them involve sitting still.

📚
Reading
Fiction, non-fiction, whatever’s on the nightstand. There’s something about a good book that does the same thing a great photograph does — it slows everything down and makes you pay attention.
🎮
Video Games
An unashamed gamer. Good games tell good stories, and good stories are worth your time. The same eye for composition that makes a strong photograph makes for a strong appreciation of visual world-building.

Photography
Yes, even off the clock. Some photographers leave the camera at home when the job’s done. Keith brings it anyway — because you never know, and because at this point it’s less a tool than it is a habit.
A relaxed client makes a better photograph. My job is to make sure you forget the camera is there — so I make sure you forget I’m there first.

LowKei isn’t just a name — it’s an operating principle. No pressure, no rush, no ego. You show up, we find the light, and we make something worth keeping. It really is that simple.

Ready to work
with someone easy?

No stiff poses, no complicated process, no nonsense. Just good photography and a low-key approach to making it happen.
